Founded in 1956 by Nobel Prize laureate in Physics Louis Neel, the CEA Grenoble was the first technological research centre in the Rhône-Alpes area.
The Medical Laboratory is responsible for conducting Medical Biology examinations at the request of work doctors for CEA employees or the workforce of companies working onsite.
The Laboratory has several sectors of activity so as to ensure an exhaustive and customised medical follow-up according to the various exposure hazards:
- A medical biology sector (biochemistry, haematology).
- A radiotoxicology and whole-body counting sector.
- A toxicology sector.
The Laboratory is COFRAC accredited for its whole-body counting activity, for its radiotoxicological analyses (C14, tritium, uranium), and its toxicological and biochemical analyses (cf. COFRAC site: www.cofrac.fr ).
