Strontium 90 in urine
The maximum number of participants for the inter-laboratory comparison is 60.
3 samples 25SRA, 25SRB and 25SRC of about 500 ml composed of :
- 1 sample without surcharge
- 2 samples with 90Sr activity <2.00 E+01 Bq/L
This presentation provides a general overview of the Strontium 90 intercomparison in urine. The information given here is for guidance only. For official, up-to-date data, please refer to the current year’s interlaboratory comparison campaign plan.

CEA Paris Saclay is a multi-disciplinary center with a staff of nearly 5,000 researchers. Many of them contribute to optimizing the operation, competitiveness and safety of nuclear power plants, and to providing concrete solutions for nuclear waste management. Other teams, including physicists and biologists, are seeking to unravel the enigmas of matter (from particles to galaxies) and life (genetics, biochemistry, medicine).
The Saclay LBM carries out biological, toxicological and radiotoxicological monitoring of CEA employees, subsidiaries and contractors working on the site. This monitoring is carried out systematically and in the event of a suspected contamination incident. The laboratory is equipped with whole-body, thyroid and lung anthroporadiametric systems, alpha and gamma spectrometers, beta counters and ICP/MS. The laboratory tests for the presence of actinides, fission and activation products, beta emitters used in medical research laboratories, and radiopharmaceuticals used in scintigraphy.
The laboratory is accredited by the French Nuclear Safety Authority to monitor worker exposure to ionizing radiation.
Procorad membership is compulsory in order to participate in annual intercomparisons.
Registration and selection of intercomparisons is possible from november of the current year.
